On behalf of RSR (Ramgarhia Sabha Reading) and S.W.A.T. (Sikh Welfare and Awareness Team),
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all and ‘The Masonic Charitable Foundation’ for your kind and generous donations towards our initiative of serving the homeless in Reading.
These funds will go a long way towards the purchase of food, running of the Van, storage facilities, packaging materiel and the necessary sanitisers and ‘PPE’ equipment during these Challenging times.
You will be pleased to know that we continued with our commitment of serving the homeless with food and clothing, throughout during the Lock down period.
The volunteers were so passionate about this ‘out reach project’ that when our Temple was Shut Down due to COVID-19 precautions, they started cooking from their individual Homes, with manageable quantities, packing it and bringing it all together for serving on Wednesdays and Sundays.
We have had quite a few Brethren passing on clothes to us, specially winter Jackets etc, which were thankfully accepted by the receivers. the blessings which part their lips are unbelievable.
