MCF Offer Support To Flood Victims
In late 2019, severe rainfall in large areas of the country has caused widespread damage to roads, bridges, homes and businesses. Already that year, the MCF has awarded £77,500 to support UK flood relief efforts.
These grants have been awarded to local flood relief funds in the Provinces of Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire, West Riding to help vulnerable or elderly people or families to get back on their feet.
The money will be used to replace essential items such as basic furniture, flooring and white goods or by assisting with repairs. This support is especially needed by those who were not able to afford insurance or for those who have properties for which insurance companies have refused to provide cover. The funds are also aiding local businesses facing hardship as a result of the floods.
Over the years, Freemasonry has awarded grants of more than £650,000 to provide emergency support to communities across England and Wales. To find out more, please visit www.mcf.org.uk/news
