Colin was initiated into the Sandhurst Lodge in 1982 and became Master in 1991 and again in 2011. He was exalted into Sandhurst Chapter in 1987 and was First Principal in 1997. He is also a member of Berkshire Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge (WM 2001), Berkshire Masters Lodge and three other degrees.

A Bank manager by profession, his skills were quickly recognised by the Province and he was appointed Treasurer of the Berkshire Masonic Charity from 1991 to 1998, an account examiner for the Provincial Accounts for 1998 and 1999 was Provincial Grand Treasurer for Berkshire from 2000 to 2010. He is still Treasurer of his Chapter and Mark Lodge.

The MW Grand Master appointed him to Assistant Grand Director of Ceremonies in 2005 and promoted him to Past Junior Grand Deacon in 2013. Colin is an active Visiting Grand Officer in Berkshire, attached to four Lodges.

In 2003 he began his association with what was then Berkshire Masonic Centre and we now know as Sindlesham Court when he was appointed a Director of the Company and a Trustee of the Freehold ownership. On retiring from banking in 2007, he expanded his role at Sindlesham and was Operations Director & Company Secretary 2007-2010 and Managing Director, 2010-2014 during which time the company and trustee structures underwent considerable, and very necessary change. He remains a Director & Company Secretary of the Holding Company.

Colin has been married to Vera for 45 years and they have two children and five grandchildren. He lists his hobbies as Home/Family, Freemasonry and travel, but only to warm places where there is a known supply of beer and wine!
